Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain laundry pressing machines
- Sort and arrange laundered items for pressing
- Adjust temperature, pressure, and steam on the presser according to the material and type of fabric
- Inspect finished products to ensure quality standards are met
- Follow safety procedures and guidelines when working with the machines
- Communicate with the laundry team to coordinate tasks and ensure timely completion of pressing dutiesReport any equipment malfunctions or repairs needed to the maintenance department
- Keep the work area clean and organized
Requirements:
- Physical stamina and strength to operate laundry press machines for extended periods
- Attention to detail to ensure proper pressing of garments
- Knowledge of different types of fabrics and their pressing requirements
- Ability to work efficiently while maintaining quality standards
- Basic math skills to calculate pressing times and temperatures
- Good communication skills to work effectively with other laundry staff
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends and public holidays
