TECHNICIAN, AUTOMATION

S$1700 - 2500 / month


Responsible for the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and continuous improvement of manufacturing automation lines. This role ensures equipment reliability, optimal performance, and minimal downtime by supporting PLC-controlled systems, robotics, vision system, sensors and industrial machinery in a production environment.

Job responsibilities:

• Set up, model changeovers, monitor and maintain automated manufacturing lines to ensure safe, efficient production and meeting outputs.
• Troubleshoot and rectify faults in automation equipment such as PLCs, HMIs, robots, conveyors, vision systems, and servo drives.
• Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize unplanned downtime.
• Assist in machine setup and commissioning of new equipment or production lines.
• Diagnose electrical, control, and Diagnose electrical, control, and instrumentation issues using schematics and technical documentation under the guidance of engineer
• Support basic PLC, machine programming and HMI modifications
• Maintain sensors, actuators, motors, VFDs, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems
• Support line optimization and productivity improvement initiatives.
• Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for equipment failures.
• Recommend improvement ideas for safety, reliability, efficiency, and cost reduction.
• Update maintenance records, breakdown reports, and equipment history logs.
• Follow company SOPs, safety rules, and quality standards.
• Support audits and ensure equipment complies with regulatory and safety requirements.
• Other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time.
 
Job requirements:

• Nitec/Diploma in automation/robotics engineering or related disciplines such as Mechatronics and Advanced Manufacturing focusing on automation, robotics or PLC
• At least 2 years of relevant working experience in automation line, robotics or PLC
• Experience in machine fault troubleshooting and recovery
