HOUSEKEEPING SUPERVISOR
Job Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily housekeeping operations to ensure rooms and public areas are clean, tidy, and well-maintained.
- Inspect guest rooms and common areas to ensure cleanliness meets company standards.
- Assign daily tasks and work schedules to housekeeping staff.
- Monitor staff performance and ensure all cleaning procedures are followed.
- Ensure guest rooms are properly prepared for check-in and ready within the required timeframe.
- Monitor housekeeping supplies, linen, toiletries, and cleaning equipment inventory.
- Report maintenance issues, damages, and lost-and-found items to the relevant department.
- Handle housekeeping-related guest complaints and ensure timely resolution.
- Train new housekeeping staff and provide guidance to improve work quality and efficiency.
- Maintain proper records of room inspections, cleaning schedules, and inventory.
- Coordinate with the front office and maintenance teams to ensure smooth daily operations.
Job Requirements
- Minimum Diploma or equivalent qualification; a certificate or diploma in hospitality management is an advantage.
- At least 2 years of experience in housekeeping, preferably in a hotel, serviced apartment, or hospitality environment.
- Previous supervisory experience is an advantage.
- Good leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to cleanliness and service quality.
- Able to manage a team, delegate tasks, and work under pressure.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- Responsible, disciplined, proactive, and able to work independently.
- Willing to work on shifts, weekends, and public holidays when required.
- Basic computer skills for housekeeping records and reporting.
- Able to communicate in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
